Use Ambitious to be Ambitious.
This is not a legal document. These are the rules of the room, written in plain English for the people in it. Ambitious is a network for people who are building something — a company, a career, a body of work, a better version of themselves. What you post is what everyone else has to scroll through, and it decides what everyone else is willing to share. So here is the deal: what this place is for, what we expect from you, and what we will take down.
The short version. The sections below explain each one.
The feed is the product. You are the feed.
Most of the internet rewards outrage, and it shows. Ambitious only works if the room stays worth being in — if opening the app puts you in front of people doing real things and talking about them honestly. That doesn't happen by accident; it happens because there are rules and we enforce them. This document is those rules. Posting on Ambitious means you've agreed to them.
A direction, not a status.
When we say everything on Ambitious is supposed to be ambitious, we mean the content points somewhere: you built something, you're trying to build something, you learned something worth passing on, you're helping someone else get where they're going. Ambition here has nothing to do with how far along you are. Someone shipping their first project belongs in this feed exactly as much as someone running a company — often more, because they're the reason the room exists.
What ambitious is not: flexing without substance, dunking on people for engagement, complaining with no intention of fixing anything, or treating other people's effort as your content. You don't have to be positive all the time — honest posts about failing are some of the most ambitious content there is. But the post should be in service of building something, not tearing something down.
These get a warning, a down-rank, or a removal — depending on how hard you lean into them.
The hard lines. These are removals, not conversations.
The categories below come down whenever we find them — in posts, comments, profiles, messages, or images. The same standards already power the safety systems across Ambitious products, including Ambitious Search. Every one of them is zero tolerance: a first offense ends the account.
Any sexual content involving a minor, any attempt to groom or solicit a minor, and any sexualization of children — real, drawn, or AI-generated. The account is terminated instantly, the content is preserved as evidence, and it is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and law enforcement.
Threatening, inciting, glorifying, or instructing violence against anyone. This includes credible threats, celebrating attacks, gore posted for shock, and instructions for weapons or attacks. Discussing violence in the news is fine; wanting it, promising it, or enjoying it is not.
Attacking people for who they are — race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or nationality — and promoting or recruiting for extremist or terrorist groups. Slurs, dehumanizing language, and supremacist content come down regardless of how they're dressed up.
Targeted harassment, pile-on campaigns, sexual advances that persist after a no, and publishing anyone's private information — home address, phone number, private photos — without their consent. Blocking someone means leaving them alone; evading a block with a new account is itself a violation.
Pornography, sexually explicit imagery, and sexual solicitation. Ambitious is not an adult platform and does not host adult content, including AI-generated and "artistic" framing of it.
Content that encourages, instructs, or glamorizes suicide, self-harm, or eating disorders. Talking honestly about your own struggles is allowed and often brave; telling other people how to hurt themselves is not.
If you or someone on Ambitious is struggling: in the U.S., call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) — free, confidential, 24/7. Reporting a self-harm post here routes it to a human quickly.
Scams, phishing, fake giveaways, guaranteed-return investment pitches, counterfeit goods, and buying or selling anything illegal — drugs, weapons, stolen data, stolen accounts. "Ambitious" is not a loophole for separating people from their money.
Malware, links designed to steal credentials, artificially manipulating engagement, scraping members' data, and any attempt to break or evade our safety systems.
Remove first, explain second.
There are two tracks, and which one you're on depends on which rules you broke:
Every category in § 4 is zero tolerance. First offense, account terminated, and where the law requires it, reported.
You have tools. Use them.
Report any post, comment, message, or profile from inside the app — every report is reviewed by a human. Block anyone you don't want to interact with; blocked members disappear from your feed, search, and comments, and you from theirs.
Appeals. If we removed your content or your account and you believe we got it wrong, email legal@ambitious.social from the address on your account within 14 days. Tell us what was removed and why you think it complies. A human reads every appeal and answers once; that answer is final.
Everywhere Ambitious is.
